MAMUT Monitor is a solution developed by FancyFon which enables the control and partial management of network devices. Making use of an independent mobile terminal, the system informs about power status and parameters of LAN and WAN devices in unreachable areas of the network, right after any malfunction occurs. Implementation of the software considerably reduces the amount of service interventions at the location.
According to the statistics, 60% of service departures are caused by power supply malfunction and lack of appropriately prompt information. Adequate problem recognition significantly reduces costs, which is resulting in a quick return-of-investment (ROI) using our MAMUT Monitor solution
FancyFon MAMUT Monitor offers:
- monitoring power supply status of devices along with their parameters in case of a fault
- monitoring of devices with RS-232,RS-485 , I2C ports, working as a back-up for SNMP systems
- management of isolated systems, temporary systems and other telemetry systems without network connectivity
MAMUT Monitor Functionality
- direct monitoring of devices with 110/230V power supply
- quick recognition of emerging problems with a modem, switch, router etc.
- MAMUT Monitor indicates one of the 5 following causes of lacking connectivity:
- line fault
- main port fault
- device's motherboard fault
- device's power supply fault
- external 110/230V power supply fault
- continuous control of device status, with adjustable interval (default-20min)
- independent power supply battery, operating up to 24 h
- full remote configurability of the handset
- GPRS/EDGE and SMS connectivity using secure protocols
- range-up to 20 km from BTS (with optional GSM antenna)
- web access to MAMUT Monitor server reports
- SNMP connectivity to other Management Systems
FancyFon MAMUT Config enables you to handle devices like servers, routers or modems remotely through RS-232 or console port. The system provides communication with devices when standard network connection is severed and also in case of faulty configuration. Most network devices allow merely limited configuration through network or do not allow it at all. Full configuration is only possible by the console main port and requires physical presence in the location. FancyFon MAMUT Config brings a solution to this problem.
How does it work?
- MAMUT Config contains a mobile phone with pre-installed software used for connections and a Bluetooth based RS-232 converter
- connection is established by a standard computer with Linux or Windows system, with trusted address, using any software for remote work (i.e. Putty)
- data transfer may be encrypted by VPN. An agent pre-installed on the cell-phone is awaiting SMS from network's administrator and in response it is sending telephones' IP address and password
- the system is capable of gathering action logs on the mobile device, which are protected from unauthorized access next to connection from a standard desktop computer it is also possible to work remotely using a mobile version of the software, e.g. installed on administrator's mobile phone
